Biography

Jen Welter is an NFL TV analyst for NBC’s Phoenix affiliate KPNX.  Earlier this year,  she made history as the first female coach in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals.

Before joining the Cardinals, Welter was a Linebackers & Special Teams Coach for the Indoor Football League’s Texas Revolution.  As a former running back for the Texas Revolution, she became the second woman to play a position other than kicker or placekick-holder in a men’s professional football season.  Welter’s football experience includes 14 seasons in a women’s professional football league, where she received 8 All-Star selections and won two Gold Medals with Team USA at the International Federation of American Football’s Women’s World Championship.

While playing football, Welter obtained a doctorate in psychology in 2013 and a master’s degree in sport psychology in 2003 from Capella University.  She graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and human resources in 2000.
